  • OAK OFF GROUP, LLC is a boutique consulting firm that provides services related to all aspects of commercial cannabis cultivation and its ancillary industries.

  • OOG’s members come from a variety of industries including finance, legal, design, engineering, education, sales and security. We are not a massive, multi-national corporation and we think this is a good thing.

When you partner with us, you will be able to call and speak with…one of us.

Oh, and while we are a close-knit team, the actual owner of the business is named Gabriel Goodhart. You can call him Gabe.

  • We have offices in Oakland, CA and New York, NY. We serve anyone seeking to buy, build or invest in a commercial cannabis property, or improve their existing operations. If marijuana is legal or becoming legal in your state we can help you.

  • While each state has its own sets of rules and regulations regarding licensing, the general standard is anyone who participates in “plant touching” activities need to hold a license.

  • OOG’s income is generated through consulting fees. These fees can be project based or hourly.

  • We offer competitive, tiered pricing with a fully transparent billing process and hourly rates ranging from $195-425.

  • Your type of license depends on the nature of your business, i.e. cultivation, distribution, retail, etc.

Our experienced licensing experts will ensure that you are on the right path to winning the appropriate license type for your business needs.

  • We begin with a complimentary introductory consultation to learn about you, your business, your project, and your goals and challenges. After completing our initial evaluation, we will prepare an estimated scope of work for your approval.

The scope of work will include a project timeline and schedule of priorities, and will be tailored to meet your specific objectives. Upon your review and consent we get to work.

While every project may be different, you can always rely on us to be honest, accessible and pragmatic.

  • Yes. We provide a substantially discounted rate to Government agencies, veterans, and Social Equity License holders. We also provide mentoring and scholarship opportunities to eligible candidates.

  • Yes. Our partnership is based on you having an awesome idea that together we turn into an even more awesome finished product (or in un-awesome business lingo: a concrete set of functioning principles and operating procedures that will ultimately be the framework for your business success).

  • Congratulations! From one small business owner to another we know how hard it is (oh boy, do we) and we are happy to hear things are going well for you.

However, here is a sobering fact: 1 in 5 small businesses don’t survive their first year. And just because you make it through your first year doesn’t mean you’re “safe”.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 65% of small businesses don’t make it to their 10 year mark. The harsh reality is that, regardless of your industry, it isn’t enough to succeed once, or twice, or 10 times. To stay in business you have to succeed every, damn day.

Our business planning advisors have experience assisting owners across a wide spectrum of industries and financial situations. The main thing is they listen to you and your goals then design a business plan structured to meet today’s goals while preserving tomorrow’s options.

  • Yes! We are truly passionate about the culture and practice of cannabis cultivation and we love helping people grow great weed and make money doing it.

  • Absolutely. The cannabis industry is an entire ecosystem that generates billions of dollars in ancillary, or supporting, industries.

We have partnered with businesses in the fields of construction, HVAC, design, security and manufacturing to help them successfully position themselves to participate in the cannabis market.

  • When you hire us we get to work immediately. We offer both standalone services, and continual monitoring and solutions, and whatever type of service you seek we have a 100% track record for meeting or beating our project timeline.

While every project is different, on average our clients receive their first batch of deliverables within 2 weeks, and most project scopes are completed within 6 weeks.

  • Many states that don’t yet have legal cannabis are actively exploring the possibility of doing so in the future.

Once they pass cannabis legislation, individuals and companies that have already prepared business plans and assembled investment capital will be at a decided advantage to those that chose to just “wait and see”.

We have also partnered with organizations in staunch anti-cannabis states to launch educational and public awareness campaigns, and assist policy advocates and advocate groups with their lobbying efforts.

  • There are no steps. We strongly urge you to follow the laws of your state and will only partner with legal cannabis operators.
